How do you share a wedding website password with guests who are not tech savvy?

Answered by the UK Wedding Websites editorial team · Updated 2026-10-12 · For guests · For parents

Short answer

Print the password on the invitation and also include a simple line like, type this word into the box on our website. Offer to help over the phone if needed.

Start by putting the password clearly on the paper invitation, not in a separate email. Write it in a larger font or in bold, and add a short instruction: go to our website, click the link, and type this word into the box. Avoid using terms like URL or login, which can confuse people.

If you are using e-invites, send a follow-up email or text with the password written out in full, and remind them that it is case sensitive if that applies. For older relatives, offer to walk them through it on the phone. You or a member of your bridal party can call them, read out the steps, and ask them to tell you what they see on screen.

You can also create a simple one-page printed guide with a screenshot of the website and a circle around the password box. Put it in the same envelope as the invitation. If you have a wedding website builder, check if it allows you to send a reminder with the password included. That way, guests do not have to hunt for the original invitation.
