When should a couple share their wedding website with guests?

Answered by the UK Wedding Websites editorial team · Updated 2026-10-12 · For guests

Short answer

Share your wedding website as soon as you have set the date and venue, usually around six to twelve months before the wedding. This gives guests plenty of time to save the date, arrange travel and accommodation, and check any details you post later.

The best time to share your website is the moment you have confirmed the essentials: the date, the location and the main ceremony and reception details. For most couples, that falls between six and twelve months before the wedding. If you are planning a wedding abroad or during a busy holiday period, share it even earlier so guests can book time off work and sort out travel.

You can share the website in stages. Send the link with your save-the-date cards or e-invites, then update it as you add more information, such as accommodation options, dress code, gift list and the timeline for the day. Make sure the website is live before you send the link, and check it on a phone as well as a computer.

If you are having a shorter engagement, share it as soon as you have the venue booked, even if some details are still to be confirmed. It is better to share early with a note saying more information is coming than to leave guests guessing. For guests who are less online, you can also print a small card with the web address and include it with your invitations.
