Start with the invitation and the save the date
Look again at the paper invitation, save the date card, or any email or text the couple sent you. The website address is often printed in small text at the bottom, on the back, or inside a pocket. Check the envelope too, some couples put the link on the return address label or on a separate insert.
If you have a QR code on the invitation, scan it with your phone camera. The code should take you straight to the website. If the code does not work, try typing the web address that is usually printed underneath it. If there is no address, ask the couple's parents or a member of the bridal party. They will usually have the link or can ask for you.
Search for the couple's names and the word wedding
Open a search engine and type the couple's full names in quotation marks, for example "Emma Smith and James Brown wedding". Add the word wedding, and if you know it, the venue, the town, or the month. For common names, add more detail such as the date, the venue, or the name of the couple's university or workplace.
If the couple has a joint name, try that too, for example "Smith-Brown wedding" or "Smith and Brown wedding". If one partner has changed their name, search both the old and new names. Wedding website addresses often include the couple's names, so a search for "Emma and James wedding website" may find it. If the website is private, the search may only show a login page, but that still confirms the site exists and gives you a way in.

Check the couple's public social media profiles. Many couples post the wedding website link in their bio, in a pinned post, or in a story highlight. Look at their recent posts around the engagement and the months before the wedding. They may have shared the link with a caption like "for all the details, see our website".
Search the couple's names on each platform, and also search for the hashtag they might use, such as #EmmaandJames2025. If you are friends with the couple, send a polite direct message asking for the link. If you are a guest of one partner, ask the other partner's close friends or family. Do not feel awkward, most couples are happy to share the link again.
Find the wedding gift list without the website link
If you only need the gift list, you do not always need the website. Many UK couples use a gift list service that lets you search by the couple's names or a unique code. Go to the gift list service's website and look for a search box labelled "find a couple" or "find a gift list". Enter the couple's full names and, if asked, the wedding date or the town.
For a store-based gift list, such as one at a large department store, go to that store's website and look for the wedding gift list section. You can usually search by the couple's names or by a list number that may be on the invitation. If you cannot find it, call the store's customer service line and give them the couple's names and the wedding date. They can confirm the list exists and tell you how to access it. Remember that you are never obliged to buy a gift, and a card or a contribution to a honeymoon fund is always welcome.
Handle private or hidden wedding websites
Some couples set their website to private, which means you need a password to see the content. The password is often printed on the invitation or save the date, so check those again. If you have the link but no password, look for a hint on the login page, such as "the name of the couple's first pet" or "the street they grew up on". Try the couple's surname, the venue name, or the wedding date in a simple format.
If you cannot guess the password, ask the couple directly. They will usually tell you, especially if you explain you have the link but cannot get in. If the website is hidden from search engines, you will not find it by searching. In that case, the only way is to ask the couple or someone in the wedding party. Do not try to bypass the password, it is there for a reason, often to keep details away from uninvited guests.
Use QR codes to find the website later
If you scanned a QR code earlier but did not save the link, check your phone's photo gallery. Screenshots of the code may still be there, and you can scan them again. On many phones, you can also open your camera app and point it at the code from the invitation or a screenshot. If the code is on a physical item like a favour or a welcome sign, scan it again.
If you cannot find the code, ask the couple if they have a digital copy of the invitation or a QR code they can send you. Some couples also print the code on thank-you cards or on a wedding website card that they hand out. Once you have the website open, save it to your phone's home screen or bookmark it in your browser. That way you will not need the code again.
Know what you cannot see and what to do next
Most wedding websites do not show you who has viewed them. You cannot see a list of visitors, and the couple cannot see that you visited unless you leave a comment or RSVP. So do not worry about being tracked. If you RSVP through the website, the couple will see your response, but not your browsing history.
If you have tried all these methods and still cannot find the website, contact the couple or their parents. It is completely normal to ask. You can say you have lost the link and would appreciate it again. If the couple has changed their names, remember that the website may use their old names, so search for both. And if the wedding is abroad, the website may be in a different language or use a different domain, so try adding the country name to your search.
