Privacy notice

This notice explains how UK Wedding Websites uses personal information. UK Wedding Websites is a trading name of FAT PRINT LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17494787), registered office Unit 3, 116 Bury New Road, Manchester M8 8EB. We are the data controller for the details you send us through this website.

When you send us a brief or order

We collect your name, email address, phone number if you give one, your wedding details and anything you write in the message box. When you order, we also collect your billing details and create an account, so you can open your wedding dashboard. We use these details only to reply to you, to build and run your wedding website and to look after your order. Our lawful basis is that you asked us to contact you and, when you order, the contract to build your website.

We email you about your order, your preview and your website going live, and we send you each new RSVP if you leave that setting on. We do not send marketing emails.

We keep enquiries that do not turn into an order for 12 months, then delete them. Order records are kept for as long as the law requires for accounts and tax.

Wedding guests

When a couple's website is live, their guests may send an RSVP. That can include names, which events they will attend, meal choices and dietary or allergy notes. Dietary notes can reveal religion or health, so we treat them with extra care.

  • Guest details are used only to show the couple who is coming and to prepare numbers for their caterer and venue.
  • We never sell guest details and never use them for marketing.
  • Couples' websites are hidden from search engines and can be password protected.
  • Photos guests upload are re-saved to remove location and camera details, and stay private until the couple chooses to show them.
  • Guest details, including replies, the guest list, seating and guest photos, are deleted six months after the wedding, or when the website goes offline if that is later.

Who else handles the data

Our website is hosted by Hostinger in the UK and EU. Payments are taken by Stripe, so we never see full card numbers. Our email is handled by DreamHost. If a couple chooses Google Sheets sync, their guests' replies are also copied into the couple's own Google account.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email hello@ukweddingwebsites.com, or write to UK Wedding Websites, Unit 3-F, 116 Bury New Road, Manchester M8 8EB. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. It uses only the cookies it needs to work: your basket and checkout, staying logged in to your dashboard, the password for a private wedding website, and Stripe's fraud protection when you pay. It also remembers small settings in your own browser, such as the look you picked.
