What should I do 3 weeks before my wedding?

Answered by the UK Wedding Websites editorial team · Updated 2026-10-12 · For parents

Short answer

Send final reminders to guests, collect any outstanding RSVPs, and confirm your ceremony details with the registrar or place of worship. Check your outfits and accessories fit well.

Three weeks before the wedding is the last full planning window. Contact any guests who have not replied to your invitations and ask for a final answer. Update your seating plan and table names, and send your final numbers to the venue and caterer. If you have a gift list, check that it is still active and that delivery addresses are correct.

Confirm your ceremony details. In England and Wales, check your notice is valid and that your marriage schedule will be ready. In Scotland, make sure your marriage notice was submitted and that your registrar has confirmed the date. In Northern Ireland, confirm your notice with the district registrar. If you are having a religious ceremony, speak to your officiant about the order of service and any readings or music.

Arrange a final fitting for your outfit and check that shoes, jewellery and accessories all work together. If you are having a suit or dress altered, do this now so there is time for changes. Confirm your hair and beauty trials, and make sure your bridal party know their appointments. Finally, book a meeting with your photographer or videographer to go through the shot list and family photos you want.
