Short answer
The ten rules are: RSVP on time, dress for the dress code, arrive early, silence your phone, do not photograph unless allowed, bring only your named plus one, be kind to staff, respect the couple's choices, give a gift or card, and leave on time or stay for the end.
Guest etiquette comes down to respect for the couple and their day. First, reply to your invitation by the requested date. This helps with numbers for food, drink and seating. If you cannot attend, tell them quickly.
Dress appropriately for the venue and any stated dress code. Avoid white, which is usually reserved for the couple, unless they have said otherwise. Arrive a little early so you are settled before the ceremony starts. Keep your phone silent and do not take photos unless the couple has invited you to.
Bring only the guests named on your invitation. Do not add children or extra adults without asking. Be patient and kind to the wedding staff, who are working hard all day. Respect the couple's choices, whether that is a short ceremony, a specific seating plan or a particular order of events.
Give a gift or card, ideally before or soon after the wedding. A handwritten note means a lot. Finally, stay for the speeches and dancing if you can, or say a proper goodbye before leaving.
