Can you provide an example of an RSVP response?

Short answer

Yes. For accepting: 'Dear [Names], thank you for the invitation. We would love to join you. No dietary needs. Best wishes, [Names]'. For declining: 'Dear [Names], thank you, but we won't be able to attend. Congratulations!'

Here are two clear examples you can adapt. For a guest accepting, write something like: 'Dear [Couple's Names], thank you so much for inviting us to your wedding. We would be delighted to attend and celebrate with you. We have no dietary requirements. Please let us know if you need anything else from us. With love, [Your Names]'.

For a guest declining, a kind response is: 'Dear [Couple's Names], thank you for the lovely invitation. Unfortunately, we won't be able to join you on the day, but we send you our warmest congratulations and best wishes for your future together. With love, [Your Names]'.

If you are replying on behalf of a family, include each person's name and any dietary needs, for example 'Two adults and two children, one child is vegetarian'. If you have a plus one, say so clearly. If the invitation asks for a reply by a certain date, mention that you are replying before then. Keep your tone warm and sincere, whether you accept or decline.
