Short answer
A plus-one should give what they would give as a regular guest. There is no extra amount expected just because they are a plus-one.
Treat a plus-one like any other guest when it comes to gifts or money. They can contribute towards a wedding gift, a card with cash, or a gift from the couple's wish list. The amount depends on their relationship with the couple and their own budget.
If the plus-one is a close friend or family member, they may want to give a bit more. If they are a distant acquaintance, a card with a kind note is enough. Many couples set up a gift list or cash fund, and a plus-one can choose any item or amount they prefer.
Do not feel pressured to spend more just because you are attending with someone. Your presence is the main gift. If you are unsure, ask the couple or check their gift page for guidance.
Remember that gifts are never mandatory. A warm card and your company are always appreciated, no matter what you give.
