What should you put on the travel page of your wedding website for guests coming from away?

Short answer

Put clear directions, parking advice, public transport options, and a list of nearby hotels with approximate distances. Add taxi numbers and a note on how long it takes to get from the station to the venue.

Start with the venue's full address and a simple map or a link to an online map. Then give directions for each way guests might arrive: by car, train, coach, or plane. For drivers, mention whether there is on-site parking, if it is free, and if there is a drop-off point for less mobile guests. For train travellers, name the nearest station and say how far it is from the venue, plus whether taxis are usually available or if they need to book ahead.

List two or three nearby hotels, guest houses, or B&Bs. For each one, give the distance from the venue and roughly how long it takes to walk, drive, or take a taxi. If you have arranged a room block or a discount code, say so here. Also mention any campsites or self-catering cottages if you know some guests prefer those.

Add practical details such as local taxi company numbers, the nearest supermarket or shop for forgotten items, and whether there is a petrol station nearby. If many guests are coming from abroad, add a note about the nearest airport and the best way to get from there to the venue. Finally, say who to contact if a guest gets lost on the day, and include a friendly line about the weather and what to wear for the season.
