How do you make a wedding QR code sign?

Answered by the UK Wedding Websites editorial team · Updated 2026-10-12 · For the bridal party · For parents

Short answer

Generate a QR code for your wedding website or a specific page, then design a sign around it. Print it on card, acrylic or wood and place it at the entrance.

Decide what the QR code should link to. It could be your wedding website, a digital order of service, a photo-sharing page, or a map of the venue. Generate the QR code using a free online tool, then download it as a high-quality image.

Design the sign with your wedding colours and fonts. Add a short instruction like "Scan for today's details" or "Scan to share your photos". Keep the QR code large, at least 5 centimetres across, and make sure there is a quiet border around it so scanners work reliably. Print the sign on a sturdy material such as thick card, foamex board or acrylic, and place it on an easel or stand near the entrance, welcome table or bar.

If you want a reusable sign, order a printed board from a local print shop or use a home printer and frame it. For outdoor weddings, protect the sign from rain or wind. Test the sign from a distance and at different angles before the day. Make sure the link works on all phones, not just the latest models.
