Can anybody see your Google Drive pictures if we send a link to them?

Answered by the UK Wedding Websites editorial team · Updated 2026-10-12 · For guests

Short answer

Only people with the link can see the photos, but you can set the link so anyone with it views them rather than only invited people.

When you share a folder or album by link, the default setting often lets anyone who has the link open the files. This is convenient for guests, but it also means anyone who guesses or forwards the link can see everything. You should check your sharing settings before you send the link out.

You can choose between two main options. The first lets only people you invite by email see the photos. The second lets anyone with the link view them. For a wedding, the second is usually easier for guests who are not on your email list.

You can also change the permission so people can only view and not download or edit. This keeps your photos safe while still letting everyone enjoy them. Remember that once a link is shared, you cannot control who keeps it. If you are worried, use a password or a private guest list instead.
