How do I find a wedding website if the couple hasn't told me the password?

Answered by the UK Wedding Websites editorial team · Updated 2026-10-12 · For guests

Short answer

Check the invitation, save-the-date, or any email from the couple for a password. If you cannot find it, ask the couple directly or a member of the bridal party, as they will know the password or can reset it for you.

Passwords are often printed on the invitation or in a separate card inside the envelope, so look there first. Some couples also include the password in the email that accompanies the e-invite, or on the back of a details card. If you have thrown away the paper invite, check your email inbox for any wedding-related messages, including spam folders. If you still cannot find it, the kindest thing is to ask the couple directly, either in person, by text, or on a group chat. They will not mind, and they can either tell you the password or change it to something easier. You could also ask a member of the bridal party, who may have been given the password to share with guests. Avoid trying to guess the password repeatedly, as some websites lock you out after a few attempts. If the website has a 'forgot password' option, you can request a reset, but that may send a link to the couple, so it is better to ask them first. Remember that passwords are often simple, like a date or a place, but guessing is not reliable.
