What should I do the week of my wedding?

Answered by the UK Wedding Websites editorial team · Updated 2026-10-12 · For the bridal party

Short answer

Confirm all final details with suppliers, pack your bags, and attend your rehearsal if you have one. Focus on rest, hydration and spending time with your partner.

The week of your wedding is about finishing touches and staying calm. Call each supplier to confirm their arrival time and any last minute changes. Check the weather forecast and adjust your plans if you are outdoors. If your venue allows outdoor ceremonies, make sure you have a backup plan for rain.

Pack your wedding day bag and your overnight bags for the honeymoon or your first night. Lay out your outfit, shoes, accessories and underwear the night before. Charge your phone and camera, and give your emergency kit to your bridal party. Confirm your transport arrangements and let your driver know the schedule.

If you are having a rehearsal, attend it and walk through the ceremony with your officiant and bridal party. Go over the order of service, where to stand and when to walk. Make sure your witnesses know their role and are available on the day.

Take time to relax. Have an early night, eat well and drink plenty of water. Spend a quiet hour with your partner, away from family and friends, to talk about the day ahead. Remember that the wedding is about your marriage, not just the event.
