Short answer
Speak to your GP or a counsellor if the anxiety is severe, and build a daily calming routine. Limit wedding talk, take breaks from planning, and practise slow breathing. Remember that your wedding is one day, and your marriage is what matters.
Extreme anxiety before a wedding is real and exhausting. You are not being dramatic, and you do not need to pretend everything is fine. The first step is to talk to a professional. Your GP can refer you for talking therapy or suggest short-term support, and many counsellors specialise in pre-wedding stress. There is no shame in asking for help.
At home, create a simple daily routine that anchors you. Try five minutes of slow breathing each morning: breathe in for four counts, hold for four, out for six. Go for a short walk without your phone. Eat regular meals, even if you have no appetite, and avoid caffeine in the afternoon.
Set boundaries around wedding talk. Tell your partner and family that you only want to discuss the wedding for one hour a day, and stick to it. Use that hour for decisions, then close the notebook. Give yourself permission to say "I do not know yet" and leave it.
Break tasks into tiny steps. Instead of "plan the seating chart", write "choose table one". Cross off each small win. If a panic attack comes, ground yourself by naming five things you can see, four you can touch, three you can hear.
Remind yourself that the wedding is a celebration, not a test. Your guests are coming to support you, not to judge you. Even if something goes wrong, the day will still be meaningful. You have already done the hard part: you are marrying someone you love.
