Short answer
A bride speech can thank guests, share a story about meeting her partner, and toast the new family. For example, start with a joke, thank both sets of parents, then say why she loves her partner.
If you are the bride and want to speak, you can follow a simple structure. Open with a thank you to everyone for coming, and maybe a light comment about the weather or the venue. Then thank your parents and your partner's parents for their support, mentioning one specific thing each did. Share a short story about how you met or a moment you knew they were the one. Keep it personal but not too private. Then say what you admire about your partner, such as their kindness or sense of humour. You can also thank the bridal party and the best man or maid of honour. End by raising a glass to your partner, or to both families coming together. A sample line might be: "I never thought I would find someone who laughs at my jokes and eats the last slice of cake, but here we are." Another example: "Thank you to my parents for teaching me what love looks like, and to my new in-laws for raising someone so wonderful." Keep it warm and genuine, and do not feel you must be funny. Your speech can be shorter than the best man's, around three minutes.
