Wedding websites, RSVP and QR codes · What to put on it

What should you put on a wedding website for the QR code?

Answered by the UK Wedding Websites editorial team · Updated 2026-10-12 · For guests

Short answer

Put a QR code that links to your wedding website's main page, or to a specific page like RSVP or directions. Place it on your save-the-date cards, invitations, and signs at the venue.

A QR code is a quick way for guests to open your website from their phone. Decide what the code should link to. The most useful is your homepage, but you can also link to a specific page, like RSVP, directions, or the schedule. Make sure the link works before you print anything. Put the QR code on your save-the-date cards, invitations, and any paper you send. At the venue, add it to welcome boards, order of service booklets, or table signs. Include a short line nearby, like "Scan for details" or "Point your camera here." Keep the code large enough to scan easily, at least a few centimetres across. Avoid putting it on dark backgrounds or shiny paper, as that makes it harder to read. Test it with different phones and cameras. You can also add a QR code that opens a map or a parking guide. Remember that not every guest will know how to scan one, so also print the website address in full. That way, everyone has a way to find the information.
