Can you have a wedding website without a registry or gift list?

Answered by the UK Wedding Websites editorial team · Updated 2026-10-12

Short answer

Yes, you can have a wedding website without any registry or gift list. Many couples use their site just for practical information, such as timings, directions, dress code and accommodation, with no mention of gifts at all.

A wedding website is not the same as a gift list. You can choose to leave out any section about presents. Many couples prefer this, especially if they already live together or simply do not want gifts.

Instead, use your website for the useful things guests need. Include the date, venue address, travel and parking details, the order of the day, dress code, and where to stay. You can also add a page for FAQs, such as whether children are welcome or if there is a bar.

If you do not want gifts, you can say so politely. For example, write: "Your presence is the only present we need." Or you could suggest a donation to a charity you both support, but only if you want to. There is no rule that you must mention gifts.

If you later decide to add a gift list, you can do so. But remember that a wedding website works perfectly well without one. Keep the focus on helping guests enjoy the day.
