When do new wedding dress styles come out each year?

Answered by the UK Wedding Websites editorial team · Updated 2026-10-12 · For brides

Short answer

New wedding dress styles are usually released twice a year, in spring and autumn. Designers show their collections around March and September, and shops receive the new samples shortly after, so you can see them in store from late spring and early autumn.

Most bridal designers follow a seasonal cycle, with two main collections each year. The spring collection typically appears in shops from around April or May, and the autumn collection from around September or October. Some designers also release smaller capsule collections or updated versions of popular styles between the main seasons.

If you are planning your wedding, it helps to time your shopping around these releases. If you want the very newest styles, book appointments a few weeks after the new collections arrive, when shops have had time to unpack and display them. If you are on a tighter timeline, you may find that last season's styles are still available, often in sample sales or from boutiques clearing older stock.

Keep in mind that bridal shops order dresses to fit you, and that can take several months. So if you fall in love with a style from the autumn collection, you may need to order it well before your wedding date. Always ask the shop about delivery times when you try on a dress, and check whether the designer offers a rush service if your wedding is sooner.
