Short answer
Couples often ask about pricing, hours, delivery time, number of images, style, backup plans, travel fees, and whether the photographer has shot at their venue. Always ask to see a full wedding gallery and read the contract carefully.
Common questions include: How much do you charge, and what does that include? How many hours will you be present? How many edited images will we receive, and in what format? When will we get our photos, and how are they delivered, online gallery, USB, or prints? Do you have a second shooter, and is that extra?
Couples also ask about the photographer's style, whether they direct poses or work candidly, and how they handle low light or outdoor ceremonies. Ask about travel fees if your venue is far, and whether the photographer has worked there before. Check what happens if the photographer is ill on the day, and whether they have a backup photographer. Ask about editing, whether you get raw files, and if you can print images yourself.
Other useful questions: Do you have public liability insurance? Can we meet before booking? Do you have a contract and deposit policy? What happens if we need to change the date? How do you handle family group photos, and do you have a shot list template? Finally, ask for references or recent full galleries so you can see consistency, not just highlights. Write down the answers and compare photographers fairly.
