What should you write in the FAQ about children at the wedding?

Answered by the UK Wedding Websites editorial team · Updated 2026-10-12 · For guests

Short answer

Write whether children are invited, and if so, whether there will be a creche or children's menu. If not, say so kindly and explain why, for example an adults-only evening.

Start with a clear yes or no, so guests know where they stand. If children are welcome, say which ages, and mention any facilities like highchairs, a quiet room, or a kids' table with activities. If you are offering a children's meal, say how to request it when they RSVP. If the ceremony is adults-only but children can join the evening, say that too. If you are not inviting children, be warm and direct. Say something like, "We love your little ones, but we have decided to make our wedding an adults-only occasion so everyone can relax." Offer to help with childcare recommendations if you can, but do not promise to arrange it. Avoid long explanations or apologies. Keep the tone consistent with the rest of your website. Also mention whether babies in arms are welcome, as that is a common question. If you have a policy, state it clearly. If you are unsure about any legal or venue rules, check with your venue or registrar first.
