Short answer
There is no strict rule for wedding veils. You are free to wear one, wear none, or choose any style that makes you feel confident and comfortable on your day.
The old idea that a veil must be worn is long gone. Today the only real rule is that it should feel right for you and your wedding. Some people choose a veil because it adds tradition or romance, while others prefer a hair comb, flowers, or nothing at all. Both choices are equally valid.
If you do wear a veil, think about when you will wear it. Many brides wear it for the ceremony and photos, then remove it for the reception so they can dance and eat comfortably. Others keep it on all day. There is no wrong choice here.
Practicality matters more than tradition. A very long veil can get caught on doors, chairs, or your partner's arm. If you have a busy day with lots of movement, a shorter veil or a secure clip may suit you better. Remember that your comfort and confidence matter far more than following any fashion rule.
