If the ring needs to be made to order, which is common for specific sizes or settings, expect a wait of around four to eight weeks. This is because the jeweller has to source the stone, craft the band and set the stone carefully. For a fully bespoke ring, where you design everything from scratch, the process can take eight to twelve weeks or more, especially if you are having a unique stone cut. During busy periods, such as before Christmas or Valentine’s Day, lead times can be longer. It is wise to start looking at least three months before you plan to propose, so you have plenty of time and are not rushed. Always ask the jeweller for a written confirmation of the expected delivery date, and check if there is any possibility of it being earlier. If you are proposing on a specific date, build in a buffer.
