How much do marquees cost?

There is no single answer because marquee hire is bespoke. The cost depends on the size of the tent, the type of lining, the flooring you choose, and whether you need heating, lighting, tables, chairs and a dance floor. You also pay for delivery, set-up and take-down, which can be a large part of the bill.

Your location matters. Rural areas may have lower delivery fees, but you might need to bring in generators or water. The time of year also affects cost: summer weekends are usually more expensive than winter weekdays. Some companies charge extra for uneven ground or difficult access.

The best way to get a realistic figure is to contact at least three local marquee companies. Ask for a detailed quote that lists every item separately. Then compare like for like. Do not forget to ask about insurance, weather contingencies and what happens if the ground is very wet.

Marquees can be cheaper than a traditional venue, but only if you manage the extras carefully. A small marquee with basic flooring and no heating will cost far less than a large one with carpet, chandeliers and underfloor heating. Always get everything in writing before you book.
