When should I post my wedding website?

Answered by the UK Wedding Websites editorial team · Updated 2026-10-12 · For guests

Short answer

Post your wedding website as soon as you have sent save-the-dates, usually 6 to 12 months before the wedding. This gives guests time to plan travel and accommodation. Update it later with final details like timings and dress code closer to the day.

The best time to launch your website is when you have confirmed the date, venue and location, and you have sent save-the-dates. For most UK weddings, that is between 6 and 12 months ahead. Guests appreciate early access to travel and hotel information, especially if they are coming from another city or country.

If you have not sent save-the-dates, you can still share the website link with close family and the bridal party. But do not post it publicly until you are ready for everyone to see it. Once the site is live, keep it up to date. Add the full schedule, dress code, gift list and any local transport details at least 8 weeks before the wedding.

After the wedding, you can leave the site up for photos and thank-you messages, or take it down. Many couples keep it live for a few months. If you change the date or venue, update the website immediately and tell guests by email or text. Do not rely on the website alone for urgent changes.
