How do you make a QR code for a wedding program?

Answered by the UK Wedding Websites editorial team · Updated 2026-10-12 · For the bridal party

Short answer

Create a QR code that links to a digital version of your wedding program, then print it on the back cover or inside the paper program. Use a free QR generator.

Write your wedding program as a webpage or a simple PDF hosted online. Include the order of the ceremony, names of the bridal party, readings, music and any notes for guests. Upload it somewhere guests can access without a password, such as your wedding website or a file-sharing link.

Then use a free QR code generator. Paste the link to your digital program, choose a static QR code rather than a dynamic one, and download it as a high-resolution image. Place it on the back cover of your printed program, or at the bottom of the order of service booklet. Add a line like "Scan for the full program" so guests know what it is.

A QR code is useful if you want to update the program closer to the day, for example if a reading changes. It also saves paper if you only print a few copies and let everyone scan. Keep the design simple, with good contrast between the code and the background. Test the code on different phones before the wedding.
