How do you make a QR code for a wedding location?

Answered by the UK Wedding Websites editorial team · Updated 2026-10-12 · For guests

Short answer

Copy the venue's address from Google Maps, paste it into a QR code generator, and download the code. Print it on your invitations, wedding website or save-the-dates so guests can open the map directly.

Open Google Maps and search for your wedding venue. Tap the share button and copy the link, or copy the address from the search bar. Then go to a free QR code generator and paste that link. Generate a static QR code and download it as a high-resolution image. Add the code to your printed invitations, your save-the-dates, your wedding website and your e-invites. You can also print it on a small card to include in guest welcome bags. Make sure the code opens the map directly, not a search page, so guests do not have to type anything. Test the code on different phones, because some cameras handle small codes better than others. If the venue has multiple entrances or car parks, consider making separate codes for each, or add a note with the exact drop-off point. Keep the code large enough to scan from a phone held at a normal distance. If you have an outdoor wedding, the code on a sign near the entrance can help late guests find their way.
