How do you make a QR code for a wedding invitation with a photo gallery?

Answered by the UK Wedding Websites editorial team · Updated 2026-10-12 · For guests

Short answer

Link a QR code to a photo gallery page on your wedding website, then print the code on your invitation or a separate card with the words "Scan for photos".

The easiest way is to build a photo gallery on your wedding website, because you can add photos after the wedding without changing the printed code. Copy the web address of that gallery page. Then use a free QR code generator to turn that link into a code. Download the code as a high-resolution image, usually PNG, so it prints sharply. Place it on the back of your invitation, or on a small insert card. Add a clear label such as "Scan to see our photos" or "Photos from our day". If you want guests to upload their own photos, make sure the gallery allows submissions, or link to a shared album instead. Test the code before printing. Keep the code away from glossy finishes that reflect light, and print it at least 2cm square. After the wedding, update the gallery with professional photos and the same code will still work. If you do not have a wedding website, you can link directly to a shared photo album, but that means you cannot change the destination later without reprinting.
