How do you make a QR code for a wedding invitation with a gift registry?

Answered by the UK Wedding Websites editorial team · Updated 2026-10-12 · For guests

Short answer

Link your QR code to a page on your wedding website that lists your gift list. Guests scan the code, see your gift list, and can choose a present without hunting for details.

Decide where your gift list lives. It could be a page on your wedding website, or a separate online list. If it is separate, create a simple page on your wedding website that links to it, so you only need one QR code. Write a short, warm note on that page, like "Your presence is the best gift, but if you would like to help us start our home, here are some ideas". Then use a free QR code generator to turn that page's web address into a code. Download it as a high quality image. Place the code on a small card inside the invitation envelope, rather than on the main invitation itself. That keeps the invitation elegant and lets guests choose whether to look. Test the code with your phone before printing. Make sure the page loads quickly and works on mobile. If you have multiple registries, list them all on that one page. Avoid putting the QR code on the back of the invitation, as it can get lost. A separate insert card is cleaner and more practical. Remember to check the page after the wedding and update it if needed.
