Can you give me an example of a QR code?

Short answer

A QR code is a square pattern of black and white squares that your phone camera can read. For example, a wedding invitation might include a QR code that opens your wedding website when scanned.

Imagine a small square on the back of your wedding invitation. It looks like a random pattern of tiny black squares on a white background, with three larger squares in the corners. When a guest points their phone camera at it, the phone reads the pattern and opens a link.

A common example is a QR code that takes guests straight to your wedding website. That page might have your schedule, travel details, gift list and RSVP form. Another example is a QR code on a table plan that links to a digital seating chart, so guests can zoom in on their table.

You could also put a QR code on your save the date that links to a map of the venue, or on a thank-you card that leads to a photo gallery. The key is to make sure the code is large enough to scan, usually at least 2 centimetres square, and printed on a flat, clean surface.
