How can we collect photos from guests at a low budget wedding?

Answered by the UK Wedding Websites editorial team · Updated 2026-10-12 · For guests

Short answer

Use a free shared photo album with a QR code printed on paper cards or a simple sign. Ask guests to upload photos throughout the day, and set a reminder at the reception.

You do not need to spend money on a professional photo-sharing service. Many free options let you create an album and share a link or QR code. Print the QR code on plain paper cards, or write the link on a small chalkboard or whiteboard at the venue. Place it near the guest book or on each table.

Ask guests to upload photos as they go, and have a friend or member of the bridal party make a short announcement after the meal. You could also put a small note in the order of service or on the back of the menu. If you have a wedding website, add the link there too.

Another low cost idea is to ask guests to email photos to a single address you set up, but that is more fiddly. A shared album is easier because guests see each other's photos and feel part of the collection. You can also set the album to private so only guests with the link can view it. After the wedding, you can download all photos for free and back them up.

If you want a physical keepsake, you could print a few favourites later, but that is optional. The main thing is to make uploading easy and fun, not to spend money.
