Short answer
UK ring sizes run from A to Z, with half sizes in between. Most women wear sizes I to M, and most men wear sizes N to T. Your jeweller can measure you accurately, or you can use a ring sizer at home.
The UK ring size guide uses letters, not numbers. Sizes start at A, which is very small, and go up to Z, which is very large. Half sizes exist between most letters, so you might be an L and a half, for example. Your ring size depends on the circumference of your finger, and it can change with temperature, time of day, and even your weight. Fingers are often larger in the evening and in warm weather, so it is best to measure at a normal time of day. You can get measured free at most jewellers, and they will also let you try on rings to see how they feel. If you are buying a ring as a surprise, you can borrow a ring the person already wears on the same finger and ask a jeweller to measure it. Remember that the ring finger on your dominant hand is often slightly larger, so always measure the exact finger you plan to wear the ring on. If you are between sizes, most jewellers recommend going up half a size, because it is easier to make a ring slightly smaller than to make it bigger.
