Short answer
There is no reliable average cost for wedding centrepieces in the UK because prices vary by florist, season and style. A simple candle arrangement can cost very little, while a large floral design costs much more. Set your own budget and ask for quotes from local suppliers.
You will not find a meaningful average for centrepieces, because the range is enormous. A single rose in a jam jar costs pennies. A tall arrangement with imported flowers can cost as much as a small car. Instead of chasing a number, decide what you want each table to look like and work backwards from there.
Ask two or three local florists for quotes based on your exact table count and flower choices. Tell them your budget and ask what they can do within it. Many florists will suggest seasonal blooms or greenery to keep costs down. You can also hire centrepieces, such as lanterns or candelabras, and add your own flowers.
If you are making them yourself, practise once before the wedding day. Buy flowers from a market or a local grower, and keep them in water until the last minute. Use sturdy containers that will not tip over. Remember to factor in time for setting up and clearing away.
For a legal ceremony, centrepieces are not part of the rules. But if your venue has restrictions on candles or open flames, check with them first. The registrar or venue manager can tell you what is allowed.
