Short answer
No single religion in the UK has an official count of interfaith marriages, so there is no reliable ranking to quote. The best guide is your local community and your place of worship.
There is no official UK figure that ranks religions by how many of their members marry outside their faith. Any number you see online is likely outdated or based on a small sample, so treat it with care. What matters more is how your families and your faith leaders feel about the union.
Start by talking openly with both families. Many families find that shared values matter more than shared labels, and that a little honesty early on prevents hurt feelings later. Some religious communities welcome partners of other faiths or no faith with full participation, while others have specific rules about ceremony, baptism or the upbringing of children. Ask your minister, priest, imam, pandit or rabbi directly about what they require, since these rules can vary and are not always written down.
You also need to think about the legal side. A religious ceremony is only legally binding in England and Wales if it takes place in a registered building with an authorised person present. Many couples choose a short civil ceremony as well. Humanist ceremonies are not legally binding on their own there, so check the current position on GOV.UK. In Scotland and Northern Ireland, some belief celebrants can conduct legal weddings, but confirm with the local registrar.
Consider how you will mark big days. You might celebrate both festivals, choose one as the main family occasion, or create new traditions that honour both lineages. Guests will follow your lead, so clear signals help everyone feel included.
